Nashua Homes Nashua Homes

In the late seventies, Nashua Homes presented a number of models
that broke the typical shotgun plan of the trailer. The move
to wider and wider trailers allowed Nashua Homes to create a trailer that was
14 feet wide. Rather than replicating the typical plan
with a corridor running the length of one side of the
trailer, Nashua Homes developed an open floor plan, allowing
the circulation flow to shift from side to side.

The Nashua home models are not trailers per se. While they are certainly expressions of a trend in trailers towards larger spaces and more permanent foundations, they may well be considered the last of the trailers in this line of development. |
